Lets talk about feeding wild birds! Interested in wild birds and their needs ? We will talk about the value of wild flowers for providing a food source when in seed and as host plants for the hundreds of insect’s young birds need every day to survive.
We’ll have fun handouts and information to help you learn about wild birds and what they like to eat. We’ll also chat about how wildflowers help birds by providing seeds and attracting insects that baby birds need to grow strong. The workshop will show participants how to make two different types of simple bird feeders from recycled materials. They can then fill with seed and bring home. Materials used are big and small plastic bottles, string, scissors, pencils/chopsticks. eco tape, funnel, bird seed.
Then, it’s craft time! We will make two easy bird feeders using recycled materials and fill them with birdseed and take them home to feed their feathered friends. The workshop is suitable for children between 5 – 13 yrs.
