Dive into a magical under-the-sea adventure with your little ones at your local library! This sensory play experience is designed for babies and young children from 6 months to 3 years, along with their accompanying adults. Together, you’ll journey into an imaginative underwater world, where children can explore, discover, and follow their natural curiosity.
From squishing, squeezing and splashing, to finding a golden treasure cave and joining an octopus for a tea party, there’s something exciting around every corner. A separate sensory play area will be available for babies aged 6 to 12 months and their accompanying adults.
Our creative arts practitioners, Joanna Parkes and Bethan Parkes, will guide the experience, combining play, storytelling, visual art, movement and sound, to engage the senses and imagination. Parents and guardians are encouraged to follow their child’s lead, observe their interests and join in the fun.
Each 40-minute session is offered four times throughout the day—at 11:00, 12:00, 2:00, and 3:00. Sessions are capped at 12 children to ensure a calm, relaxed atmosphere. No advance booking is required, just arrive 5 minutes before the start time!
