Promoting Positive Ageing in Co. Louth

  • Screening

Age Friendly Louth is planning to partner with An Táin Arts Centre to deliver Phase 3 of the Promoting Positive Ageing project in Co. Louth during 2026. The aim of the project is to dispel age related stereo types and promote positive views of ageing in the broader community in Co Louth.

This year, we plan to hold the project in Mid Louth and invite participants aged 18+.

Several taster workshops will be held in Ardee & Dunleer in early Summer 2026, and those interested will be invited to attend a 10-week creative arts project at Dunleer Library during the Summer.

The 10-week project will explore the topic of ageism and positive ageing in Co Louth. The facilitator will focus on building social relationships, trust, and connections to create a safe space through the creative arts, where participants are encouraged to share stories and life experiences related to ageing and growing older.

In phase 1 & 2 the groups decided on the medium of film to express their thoughts and reflections on the issue of ageing and how to age positively and this will be the medium that will be used in 2026.

Filming will take place in early September 2026, with the intention of screening the film at Culture Night events in September 2026.
