Shoppe Together – Intergenerational Skill Share Pop‑Up Workshops

Intergenerational Skill Share is a pop-up workshop series that brings youth and seniors together to learn, sew, and create using recycled textiles. Led by visual artists Julia MacConville and Susanne Horsch, the sessions explore repair, upcycling, and sustainable approaches to clothing while encouraging conversation and collaboration across generations. From sewing a tote bag to repairing garments and designing personal projects, participants will build skills and creative confidence through making. Rooted in the original meaning of “shoppe”, a place of making, the project strengthens community, shared knowledge, and a slower, more thoughtful relationship with the clothes we wear.
