Seaweed Pressing

  • Workshop

Seaweed pressing – a beautiful way to appreciate and preserve this natural beauty.

Join Oonagh O’Dwyer from Wild Kitchen to create beautiful artworks by pressing seaweed collected from a local beach. Seaweed is often looked as being smelly or a nuisance, when in fact it has many sustainable and artistic uses, from plant pots, pressings, lampshades to plastic alternatives  and of course in cooking.

Oonagh will guide you in how to create your own pressings using the colours, shapes and sizes of different seaweeds. You can then bring your creations home, dry out fully and frame for keeping and getting to know your local biodiversity and shore life in a creative way.
