“Whispers of the Forest”, invites children aged 5–13 into a magical world of mushrooms and imagination. Participants will create whimsical mushroom hats and forest costumes from recycled materials, take part in a professional photoshoot, and shine in a red-carpet fashion show and exhibition celebrating creativity, sustainability, and playful woodland storytelling.
Inspired by the magical world of woodland ecosystems, fungi, and forest folklore, the project invites young participants to step into a living story shaped by creativity and sustainability. Across a series of hands-on workshops taking place in Moate, children will design and create their own forest-inspired costumes using recycled and upcycled materials. A special focus is placed on crafting whimsical mushroom hats, textured garments, and nature-based accessories, encouraging exploration of colour, form, and storytelling. The programme is inclusive and accessible, welcoming children of all abilities.
The project culminates at Tuar Ard Arts Centre, with a Red-Carpet Forest Fashion Show and a gallery exhibition of selected photographs. Families and the wider community are invited to experience an enchanting celebration of creativity, sustainability, and imagination.
