Get ready for colour, creativity, and lots of inky fun! Over three weeks, the Art & Movement Group from Down Syndrome Mayo will explore the magic of mono‑printing. Using professional printmaking facilities including a large etching press participants will learn how to create their own one‑of‑a‑kind art prints.
Mono‑printing is all about play and discovery. Each session invites the group to roll ink, draw, press, experiment with textures, and watch their ideas transform into vibrant original prints. No two prints are ever the same! The workshops will be co‑facilitated with some of the older members of the Art & Movement Group, giving everyone a chance to share skills, support each other, and work as a creative team.
After three weeks of making, the finished artworks will be displayed in Ballina Arts Centre as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2026 on June 6th. Families, friends, and the wider community will be invited to come celebrate the group’s brilliant work, creativity, and collaboration.
This project is designed especially for the Art & Movement Group and is not open to the general public but everyone is welcome to attend the exhibition on Cruinniú na nÓg to enjoy the colourful results of their printing adventures!
