Cavan- Creative Seasons in Knockbride: A Children’s Art Journey exploring Irish Culture & Nature -Irish Night

South Dublin County Council- The Cruinniú Stage at Ruaille Buaille Children’s Music Festival

Fingal- Bodhrán Making Workshop

Location: The Seamus Ennis Arts Centre

Dates and Time: 10-2pm 

Age: 8+

Participants will craft their own bodhrán entirely from scratch, they will then personalise their instrument by decorating it with a design of their choice. The workshop will conclude with a lively lesson of how to play jigs and reels.

Fingal- Shadow Puppet Workshops and Performance with The Flight of Fancy Shadows 

Location: The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre

Dates and Time: 10-12pm

Age: 5+

In this two‑hour workshop, the facilitators will guide participants in creating their own puppets and exploring the importance of movement, storytelling, and voice. Inspired by Dúchas archive, participants will get the chance to perform to their family and friends, accompanied with live traditional music by Lucie Flynn.

Kilkenny- Cead Focal

Location: Thomastown Community Centre

Dates and Time: Workshops: 7, 14, 21 May from 5-7 pm and Sat 23rd 10am-2pm. Screening will take place on the 6th of June. Note: Children must be available for all sessions. 

Age: 8+

Participants will explore drama, character, and visual storytelling, working together to invent their own screenplay from scratch. With no script in advance, the film will be shaped entirely by the children’s ideas, voices, and imagination. The finished 10–12-minute film will premiere at a public screening for Cruinniú na nÓg 2026.

Galway County- Morse Code & Marconi

Connemara Coding Club will host a session where you can learn how to send messages using Morse Code. This is a workshop for all ages and parents are asked to stay with their children. There will be two sessions in the day, each running for 3 hours – more details to follow!

Galway County- Ceardlann Gearrthóg Beochana 

Location:  Stiuideo Fia 

Date and Time: TBC

Ages: 13-18

An animation workshop at Stiúideo Fia on June 6th for Cruinniú na nÓg will give young people the chance to create a short video using sand, seashells and natural materials. Participants will learn animation, recording, and video-editing skills while working creatively as a team.

The finished film will be screened at Frame Fest in August.

Donegal- Scoil Rac ar Oileán Árainn Mhór !

Kilkenny- Mo Duchas Night Time Event 

Location: Kilmacow Parish Hall

This vibrant exhibition highlights young people’s ideas, voices and creativity, developed through an artist‑led process that encouraged experimentation, expression and collaboration.

Carlow- Seomra Traidisiúnta 

Location: St Joseph’s National School

Seomra Traidisiúnta is an immersive, creative programme for children and young people under the expert guidance of traditional singer & folklore collector Rachel Uí Fhaoláin and digital storyteller John Ó Faoláin. The children will actively engage in traditional song, folklore, culture & heritage.

Galway County- Make your own Fairy Forts and paper Golden Sun Crown 

Location: Portumna Library

Date and Time: 12-1pm

Ages: 5-8

A creative workshop will invite participants to make miniature Fairy Forts using natural Irish materials like moss, twigs, and stones, along with a paper Golden Sun Crown to wear.

The workshop combines storytelling, nature-based crafts, and imaginative play in a fun hands-on experience for young people.

Galway County- The Secret of Kells, Monks, Monsters & Manuscripts 

Location: Portumna Library

Date and Time: 2:30-3:30pm 

Ages: 10-14

Inspired by Saint Columba, this creative workshop for 10–14 year olds will explore the life of Ireland’s patron saint of poets, writers, and bookbinders through art and storytelling.

Participants will design their own illuminated letters and names using gold markers, colourful inks, Celtic knotwork templates, and mythical monster illustrations.

Galway County- The Hedgerow Heroes 

Location: Portumna Library 

Date and Time: 4-5pm

Ages: 8-12

This nature-inspired workshop for 8–12 year olds will explore Irish biodiversity, herbal traditions, and the vibrant wildflowers found in hedgerows during midsummer.

Participants will identify native plants, create botanical artwork, and make certified Irish wildflower seed bombs to plant at home or in community spaces.

Galway County- The Creative Spiral: Finding Your Creative Glimmers

Location: Milltown Old School / Day Care Centre 

Date and Time: 11:30- 1:30

Ages: 6-10

This 2-hour creative workshop for children aged 6–10 invites participants to explore spirals in nature and create unique artworks inspired by colours, shapes, and natural materials.

Led by Louise O’Boyle, the session encourages imagination, mindfulness, and self-expression through painting, collage, pastels, and storytelling.

Kerry- A Collaborative Collage Event – Paint & Print 

Location: The Fishery

Where and when: 4:30-7:30 

Ages: 9-15

This hands-on workshop invites young people to explore visual art and printmaking in an engaging and accessible way. Participants will experiment with mark-making, texture, and simple techniques such as splatter painting, mono-printing, and resist processes.

Donegal- Learn to paint your self portrait ! 

Location: Garradh Chomcille

Where and when: 10-2:30pm 

Ages: 9-15

Through games, stories, and hands‑on activities with artist Maria Gasol they’ll explore the history of self‑portraiture in an engaging, age‑friendly way and enjoy expressing themselves by creating their very own self‑portraits.

Donegal- Cruthaitheacht sa Ghaeltacht: Ceardlann Ealaíne & Deartha do Dhaoine Óga 

Location: Ionad Oige Gaoth Dobhair

Date and Time: 10-1pm

Participants will work with a visiting Artist and Youth Workers to create their own original artworks inspired by local culture, landscape and imagination.  

The event will conclude with a mini exhibition of the young people’s artwork, allowing participants to showcase their creations to family and the local community.

Donegal- RCC X Cruinniú na nÓg 

Location: Regional Cultural Centre

Where and when: 1:30-4:30 

Ages: 4-12 and 12-18

Young children can explore portrait-making with The Arty Fox, while older participants will experiment with graffiti-inspired art and lettering led by Peaball. A relaxed mini cinema screening animated short films throughout the day will add to the inclusive, family-friendly creative experience.

Monaghan- Make a Film “As Gaeilge”

Make a Film as Gaeilge for Cruinniú na nÓg! This Irish-language filmmaking project invites young people to explore screen acting and filmmaking through creative engagement in Irish.

Galway County- Drumming Workshop (5-8’s & 9-12’s) 

Location: Moyne Villa, Headford

Date & Time: 1-2pm for 5-8 year olds, 3:30-5pm for 9-12 year olds

For Cruinniú na nÓg 2026, Headford & District Association is running inclusive group drumming workshops with Drumadore.

The sessions are high-energy and hands-on, designed so young people of all experience levels can take part.

Galway County- Paper Art: Book Making & Quilling 

Location: Mountbellew Community Centre

Date & Time: 10-4pm 

Ages: 5-12

Join local artists Madeleine and Eucharia for hands-on paper crafting workshops. Participants will explore bookmaking techniques, including Coptic stitch binding, cut-out book art, and quilling, using a variety of colourful materials.

On Saturday 6th June 2026, Cahir Comhaltas young musicians and dancers will present a lively “Ceol agus Damhsa” performance at Cahir Tourist Office Plaza near Cahir Castle. The event showcases traditional Irish music and dance by performers aged 5–16.

Participants will learn about biodiversity, heritage, and climate action while kayaking or paddleboarding, shaping their own themed activities on the water.

‘Spúnóg’ is an inclusive art project for 24 DEIS school children led by polymer clay artist Liga Valge. Participants will design and create teaspoons using polymer clay, developing creative skills in a calm, supportive workshop environment.

Roscommon- FunFest ‘Creativity At Play’ 2026
