Ways of Seeing Poetry Workshop

Workshop

Everyone can write poetry! This workshop, under the theme of ‘ways of seeing’ is for 14-18 year olds with any interest in poetry or spoken word. All levels of experience are welcome, from total beginners to those who want to improve the precision of their writing and oral delivery. The workshop will be a friendly, conversational atmosphere. Participants will explore traditional, contemporary, unconventional and personal examples of poetry.

Writing exercises will help participants to extract the poetry from within. In line with the theme, this writing will be prompted by images, participants’ own experiences, thoughts and observations.
