Raranga Ika (Maori Weaving – Fish)

Raranga/Maōri Basketry is a heritage craft from Aotearoa/New Zealand. It uses harakeke/New Zealand flax which grows here in Ireland. Through making these small objects, children will be introduced to Maōri language, customs, & traditional craft, learning how to prepare the rau/leaves to mahi raranga/weave a fish!
