Join Matchbox Mountain and Gateway Youth Project this Summer for Animated Athlone.

On June 7th, Matchbox Mountain will be introducing participants to the art of Hand Drawn Animation from 12am until 12pm. This is a 2 hour-long hand-drawn animation workshop, where participants can create their own individual animations on paper, shoot them under the camera and watch their moving animation come to life onscreen. Participation is free, however you must reserve your place via this form.

July 21st – 26th will allow participants to continue to grow their animation skills and create their very own stop motion film. Award-winning Animators from Matchbox Mountain, Pádraig Fagan and Eimhin McNamara, will support the groups, as they write, design and animate their short films. The characters and sets will be created using plasticine and coloured card and will be brought to life, using stop motion animation techniques. Participation is free, however you must reserve your place via this form.
