Join us for Cameraless Film-making at Butler Gallery this Cruinniú na nÓg, Saturday 7th June! Butler Gallery will have a festive, family-focused, inclusive spirit of celebration, art-making and sustainability!
Discover the magic of cameraless film-making, in hands-on workshops with artists Juana Robles and Michael Higgins. Working directly on 16mm film, families and children will explore cameraless film-making techniques; scratching, painting, splicing and re-purposing old film stock, to create visual experiments.
Sustainable methods will be used in recycling and re-purposing old film stock, teaching students visual awareness, an understanding of analogue film and the mechanics of image-making.
Through collaborative creation, children will craft unique, rhythmic sequences and bring them to life with analogue projection.
