This project brings children aged 8+ together to create a short Irish language film for Cruinniú na nÓg 2026, reimagining Irish as something creative, expressive, and fun. Led by award winning writer Gillian Grattan from TADA Theatre and Film School, with support from actor/ writer Susie Lamb, the project unfolds through a series of lively workshops and a filming day. Participants will explore drama, character, and visual storytelling, working together to invent their own screenplay from scratch. With no script in advance, the film will be shaped entirely by the children’s ideas, voices, and imagination. No Irish is required to take part, and the language will be woven naturally into the story, reflecting real experiences rather than perfect grammar. The focus is on confidence, creativity, and enjoying the process. The finished 10–12-minute film will premiere at a public screening for Cruinniú na nÓg 2026, celebrating young people’s creativity and the joy of making something together. Workshops will be booked via a Google Form, making registration simple and accessible for participants. The public screening is free to attend, and no tickets are required, allowing families, friends, and the wider community to join easily. Workshops: 7, 14, 21 May from 5-7 pm and Sat 23rd 10am-2pm. Screening will take place on the 6th of June. Children must be available for all sessions.
