Creative Places Ballaghaderreen 2026 Artist Researcher

  • Exhibition

Following a successful first year of Creative Places Ballaghaderreen 2024, a second award has now been granted to develop a three-year inclusive arts programme. (2025-2027)

This new phase is built around three pillars:

  • Arts for All: Inclusive events, festivals, and programming for families, the public, and targeted groups.
  • Youth: Co-designed outreach and education with youth workers and schools, highlighting creative career paths.
  • Artists: Socially engaged residencies within organisations and estates to reach new audiences and connect with specific groups.

With Creative Ireland’s support in 2025, one socially engaged Artist-Researcher was appointed for the full three-year term. Insights from year one showed that long-term residencies foster trust and meaningful engagement, with time invested in building relationships proving essential to creating valued, relevant programming. Support in 2026 will be the second of a three year commitment to this Artist Researcher position.
