Echoes from the Hills – A Neolithic Mosaic for Scoil Naomh Íosaf

Mosaic Showcase

This exciting collaborative project has brought together students from 4th to 6th Class, along with senior pupils from the Réalta Special (ASD) Classes, to explore local history, archaeology, and sustainability through creative practice. Students have explored the rich heritage of the area, including hillforts and ancient landscapes. Inspired by these themes, participants have collaborated together to design and create a striking large-scale mural using recycled plastic bottle tops, combining environmental awareness with artistic expression.

The project culminates in a celebratory launch event at the school for Cruinniú nan Óg on June 6th, unveiling the vibrant mosaic as a lasting symbol of creativity, collaboration, and connection to place.
