Explore Musical Instruments with the Barn Ensemble – Arklow Library

  • Workshop

This is a fantastic way to spark an interest in music and have fun learning about instruments.

An exciting, hands-on event, where children can explore a variety of musical instruments! This interactive session is perfect for primary school children (ages 4+) but is sure to delight music lovers of all ages.

What to Expect:

Meet a range of wind and string instruments, including the tin whistle, flute, violin, cello, guitar and more.

Hear each instrument played live and learn about its sound – is it high, low, loud or soft?

Play a fun listening game, to identify different instruments by their sound.

Watch and listen, as the instruments are played together in a short performance.

After the event, children with their parents/guardians can closely examine the music instruments and even try making a sound themselves.

No materials needed – just bring your curiosity.
