Feltmaking – Magic Wands!

  • Workshop

Over the course of this fun morning, children will learn the basics of wet-felting, the world’s oldest form of textile making!

This is a fabulous introduction to a very sensory craft, suitable for beginners. There will be plenty of soapy bubbles and soft fibres. Roll up your sleeves and rub a dub dub!

Tamzen Lundy (former chairperson of Feltmakers Ireland and textile professional of 20+ years experience) will introduce the group to the basics of wet-felting, then move on to felting around a pencil. Those that love Harry Potter might know the character Rita Skeeter, who has a magic wand pencil – after this workshop, each participant will go away with their own!

This workshop will be held three times throughout the day – first from 10.30am – 11.15am, then from 11.30am – 12.15pm, and finally from 12.30pm – 1.15pm.
