Game Development Workshop with Gary Chadwick from Cartoon Saloon

Introduction to Game Development for Teens. 

This workshop introduces the building blocks of game development using Scratch, a visual scripting engine designed for beginners. Participants will get hands-on experience with Scratch, learning to create interactive and innovative content. The session will cover core game systems and guide attendees from initial concept through to a completed project. The principles learned will also be transferable to other game engines.

The workshop is facilitated by Gary Chadwick, a supervising software developer at Cartoon Saloon and an independent narrative game developer. As a child, Gary began programming and writing stories. These passions he later combined through game development. Today, he self-publishes narrative games, primarily visual novels, that push the boundaries of storytelling in interactive media.
