NTE: Shared Island Street Session – A Cross-Border Celebration of Youth Music

  • Performance

The Glens Arts Centre is thrilled to present Cruinniú on a Shared Island – a vibrant, cross-border music project celebrating young emerging musicians from Leitrim and Fermanagh as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2025.

Building on the success of the Live Street Session in Manorhamilton, The Glens Arts Centre have expanded the initiative to foster cross-border collaboration, having nurtured young musicians since 2018, providing them with opportunities for skill development and live performances.

The Street Session serves as a platform for young artists to showcase their talents and engage with their communities. The culmination of the Cruinniú on a Shared Island initiative will occur on June 7th at Market Square, Manorhamilton, featuring performances by our participants aged 11-18 & special guests, with another event planned for later in the summer in Fermanagh. The event promises to be a vibrant celebration of music and community spirit, drawing together diverse audiences from both sides of the border.

Attendees can look forward to an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary sounds, highlighting the rich cultural tapestry of the region. With a focus on unity and creativity, the Cruinniú on a Shared Island initiative not only nurtures young talent but also strengthens bonds between communities through the universal language of music. As preparations for the event continue, excitement builds for what is sure to be an unforgettable day of shared experiences and artistic expression!
