Our Place

  • Workshop

Our Place is an exciting project in Killala, that gives young people from Killala Town Centre and surrounding areas, the chance to explore their town, through creativity. The project invites teenagers to use their imagination and artistic expression, to discover new ways of seeing and engaging with their local environment.

Through a series of creative activities, the group will explore the town centre, using art to reflect on what makes Killala unique and envision ideas for the future. The group is supported by two talented local artists,  Animation Director Yulia Bashakova, and socially engaged visual artist and educator, Alice Dixon.

As part of the Cruinniú na nÓg festivities, the teens will showcase their creative projects and ideas to the Killala Town Team and the wider community, offering a fresh and exciting perspective on their town.

Our Place empowers young people to express themselves, connect with their community, and celebrate the creativity that exists at the heart of Killala.

The initiative is led by the Killala Town Team as part of the Town Centre First Program, with the support of Killala Community Council and Foróige.
