Prototypes for Cyborgs: A Space Opera

This ambitious project brings together Donegal Youth Orchestra, with a new exhibition designed by Mark Cullen featuring playable sculptures, haptic technology and VR in a unique hybrid performance experience, featuring new commissioned work by composer Tadhg Kinsella. 

About Donegal Youth Orchestra:

Donegal Youth Orchestra are part of the Donegal Music Partnership and are led and conducted by composer Vincent Kennedy.

About the Artist:

Mark Cullen is a celebrated Irish artist renowned for his international practice across various disciplines and media. His work has received numerous awards and grants, reflecting his exploration of posthuman subjectivity and humanity’s evolving relationship with the world.

About the Sound Artist:

Tadhg Kinsella is a queer classically trained composer, percussionist, and live electronics musician. Specialising in Modular Synthesis, hardware, and digital technologies. Tadhg is also founder of Dublin Modular, a platform dedicated to contemporary electronic music and arts. 

Tadhg will work with the Donegal Youth Orchestra composing and rehearsing a new work that will be performed by all the partners during Ciunniu na nOg.
