Sacred Heart Community Wall Project

In 2024, Sacred Heart FRC took on an artist in residence through Creative Waterford funding. The artist, Ruth Flynn, supported the Sacred Heart community to create a community mural on their communal greenspace over a six month period. 

As a Cruinniú special treat, Ruth will be returning for the week to add to the mural – but this one is just for the kids!

Classes in the local primary school will be invited to the wall in the week leading up to Cruinniú to paintball the wall, creating a unique splash design. By Cruinniú day, the paint will have dried and Ruth will invite all the young residents of the street to come and stencil a Cruinniú celebration message of their choice onto the wall. When this stencil is complete, we will celebrate with a creative street party. 

The wall will be a lasting legacy of Cruinniú 2025 and a fantastic addition to our ever-evolving community mural.
