School of Irish Archaeology Workshops – Cruinniú na nÓg
Exploring the Past Through Hands-On Learning

As part of Cruinniú na nÓg celebrations, Manorhamilton Library will host two exciting workshops facilitated by the School of Irish Archaeology, in collaboration with a local primary school.

These interactive sessions are designed to spark curiosity and bring history to life for young learners. The first workshop, Mini Dig, gives students the chance to step into the shoes of an archaeologist—excavating replica artefacts and learning about Ireland’s ancient past through hands-on discovery.

Following the dig, students will take part in a Viking Pouch-Making workshop, where they’ll explore Viking culture and craft their own traditional-style pouch to take home.

These workshops aim to educate and inspire, offering a fun and engaging way to connect with Irish heritage.

Please note: This is a closed-group event and not open to the public.
