Over the course of May, a small group of students with additional needs at Davitt College, Castlebar will take part in a sensory‑friendly pottery workshop. In a calm and supportive setting, students will explore working on the pottery wheel, feeling the soft clay move beneath their hands as they are guided step by step through the process. The steady spinning of the wheel and simple hand movements create a soothing and grounding experience.

Each student will shape their own small piece on the wheel, exploring texture, creativity, and the joy of making something unique. The focus is on comfort, creativity, and the experience of making in a gentle environment.

A quiet and fully consented recording of the workshops will be made, focusing only on the creative process. On June 6, this short film will be released online as part of Cruinniú na nÓg, celebrating the students’ artistic achievements.
