Solas na Gréine (Sunlight)

  • Workshop

Children will be combining the elements of science and artistry while working with cyanotype ink. Using this special formula we create paper that when exposed to UV light it will react and form beautiful patterns and shapes. If weather permits we will start the workshop by going on a little nature walk to gather various items.

The children will arrange their material on the treated page before exposing it to the sunlight and afterwards discover what patterns emerge. We will work with lots of other material which leave different effects too. It’s fun, creative and educational at the same time! A display of all the images will be gathered for parents to see at the end. Each child will come home with several images worthy of framing!
