River Nore Life – Clay Stories of Kilkenny

Celebrate Kilkenny’s special connection to the River Nore with Happy Pottery this Cruinniú na nÓg.
In this creative clay workshop, children will design and make ceramic tiles inspired by the life, history and landscapes of the River Nore. From local plants and wildlife to historic buildings, bridges and stories linked to the river, young participants will explore what makes this place unique. Using clay as their canvas, children will express their ideas through texture, pattern and imagery, while learning about local heritage and the natural environment in a fun and hands‑on way. This welcoming, collaborative session invites creativity, curiosity and pride in Kilkenny’s river life past and present.
