The Beat Project is a dynamic 8 week workshop series designed to engage young people ages 9-12 in the creative process of songwriting and recording, culminating in a live performance on Saturday 7th June for Cruinniú na nÓg 2025.
This project provides a unique opportunity for youth to explore their creative potential, develop valuable musical skills, and engage with their community and peers in a meaningful way. No prior musical knowledge is required of the participants, elements of songwriting will be broken down and explored in a way to engage young people regardless of their musical experience. Through guided instruction and collaborative group work, participants will learn how to construct, record and perform their own songs from scratch. This project provides a unique opportunity for youth to explore their creative potential, develop valuable musical skills, and engage with their community and peers in a meaningful way.
The showcase event will take place in The Park Community Centre on 7th June at 5:00pm. If you are familiar with the venue you’re in for a surprise! The event will include performances from local young DJ’s and participants from The Beat Project performing their original songs.
