The Fabric of You

Workshop

The Fabric of You invites young people to create abstract textile self-portraits using rescued fabrics. Through a playful, hands-on process, participants explore identity, colour and texture, focusing on expression over realism. Using a mix of materials, they design a portrait that reflects who they are, what they love, and how they see themselves. The workshop is inclusive, accessible and suitable for all experience levels, with no sewing required. Each participant creates a unique artwork to take home, celebrating creativity, confidence and individuality. Focusing on expression over realism, the workshop explores identity through colour, texture and form, encouraging imagination, confidence and creative risk-taking.
