Unfinished Book of Poetry at Poetry in the Park

  • Workshop

Cork City Libraries’ Poetry in the Park series proudly presents twelve new poems for the 21st edition of The Unfinished Book of Poetry (2025), featuring original work by Transition Year students from five Cork schools.

Throughout June, the poems will be displayed across six Cork City parks, each accompanied by a QR code linking to audio recordings by the young poets – bringing their words to life in their own voices.

The anthology is the result of nine creative workshops held between November and March, led by established poets. It will be officially launched with the support of the Lord Mayor of Cork.

Participating schools include Cork Educate Together, Terence MacSwiney Community College, Ashton School, Coláiste an Phiarsaigh, and Coláiste Éamann Rís.

Since 2005, The Unfinished Book of Poetry has published over 800 young writers. This long-standing collaboration between Cork City Libraries, Cork City Council Arts Office, and Ó Bhéal continues to celebrate youth voices, creative expression, and poetry in public spaces.
