Vita House Father’s Group

  • Workshop

The Father Group, delivered through Vita House Outreach in Monksland, supports dads to build parenting skills, share experiences, and connect with one another in a warm and welcoming space. By reducing isolation and encouraging confidence, the group strengthens family relationships and promotes children’s wellbeing.

They look forward to rolling their sleeves up for creative woodworking project in which fathers will design and craft handmade pieces—such as birdhouses, carved features, or sensory play items—for the newly refurbished local play area and for use within the group. Guided by skilled facilitators, participants will work from initial idea to finished piece, developing practical skills while fostering creativity, teamwork, and shared achievement.

The group meets monthly for 1.5–2‑hour sessions that blend discussion, skill‑building, and hands‑on activity. Current offerings include photography, woodwork, gardening, fishing, cooking, and arts and crafts. This project will deepen the woodworking strand, giving fathers a meaningful collective goal with lasting community impact and enriching the group’s broader creative programme.
