Woodland Mixed-Media Sculpture Project

Foróige’s, Galway City Youth Café UBU Project, in collaboration with local Woodland Artist, Debbie Reilly, will facilitate a number of willow, hazel and mixed media workshops. The workshops are for different age groups of young people 10-18 years of age. We will use two methods of willow sculpture and a final sculpture will be made by two groups, focusing on the theme of identity and belonging. 

Young people will be invited to scheduled workshops at Merlin Woods Community Gardens and ARD Family Resource Centre, Cumasu Centre, in the lead-up to Cruinniú na nÓg. During the workshops, young people will have the opportunity to create their own designs to take away. The pieces produced will be displayed with an exhibition in Fr. Burke Park, where attendees at the festival will have a chance to see the work and speak to participants about the project.
