Paper Craft Illustration Workshop at Abbeyleix Heritage House

Heritage House will host a paper craft illustration workshop for ages 10 to 14. This year’s workshop theme will be based on the Rock of Dunamaise, and the group will create a layered image of the old fort. For safety, each layer will be pre-cut at Heritage House, so the participants will not need to handle sharp knives. This will also help us fit the workshop into the scheduled events elsewhere in Abbeyleix. The workshop will last 2 hours, running from 10 am to 12 pm.

For materials, we will use glue sticks and card stock, and we might add a splash of acrylic paint to a few pieces of card stock to break up the solid colours of the other sheets. We will use foam core or card to lift each layer, which will help add depth to the image. The images will be mounted on A4 paper, suitable for framing when finished. While the image will be based on the Rock of Dunamaise, the techniques can be applied to any image.
