Hi, my name is Isabelle and I’m the This is Art Ambassador for this year!  I live in west Cork and I am 15 years old. I have always loved doing art, and now I sell my paintings in the local market. I love painting and looking after wildlife and animals. During lockdown I started watching the TV series ‘The Joy of Painting’, with Bob Ross and I thought “that’s whatI would like to do, create realistic paintings as fast as he can!”. From that starting point I have worked on my artwork to take it to realistic and photo-realistic levels.  

Paiting and drawing relaxes me and gives me hours of enjoyment. When I do art, I feel as if there are no rules or boundaries.My advice to young people who want to be creative it to just go for it! Paint what you want to paint and enjoy it. Art should be something you are willing to make mistakes in, because it happens to the best of us.  

The best thing about Cruinniú na nÓg is that it encourages young people to be creative, and to find their own mode of expression.  

To me creativity is a journey of enjoyment and experimentation!
