Wax The Way! – Wax Crayon Batik with Rachel Tinneswood

Explore the colourful world of batik art with artist Rachel Tinneswood in this fun and hands-on Wax Crayon Batik Workshop, part of this year’s Cruinniú na nÓg celebrations at Bridge Street Studios!

Designed for children aged 8 to 12, this creative workshop puts a playful twist on traditional batik techniques by using wax crayons and vibrant dyes to create stunning fabric artworks. Participants will draw bold designs, apply wax for resistance, and then add washes of colour to reveal beautiful, layered patterns and textures.

It’s a fantastic introduction to textile art—messy, magical and full of colour!

All materials provided – just bring your imagination and a sense of adventure!
