Come join us at Youth Work Ireland Tipperary in Tipperary Town for a fun and creative illustration workshop, to celebrate Cruinniú na nÓg! Let your imagination run wild, as local illustrator Gary Power introduces this workshop, focusing on drawing little joyful moments in daily life. This free event is for young people between the ages of 14-18 years of age.
The Tipperary Town Youth Project works with young people between the ages of 10-24 years of age through a rights-based, youth-led approach to foster learning, innovation, hope and high expectations in young people, their families and their community. Our youth centre in Tipperary town is friendly, open and inclusive of young people and we work hard to meet our members where they are at, and to build relationships of trust, friendship and equality.
Gary Power is an illustrator from Tipperary, who has a playful, sometimes whimsical and naive aesthetic in his work. He mainly works with traditional materials, such as dip pens, ink and watercolour paints. Finding the humour and magic in the “everyday-ness” of life, Gary is drawn to little slices of life stories. He likes to tell hopeful and humorous stories, which revolve around nature and the human experience. In recent years, his work has focused on documenting these little moments from daily life in his sketchbooks, which we tend to bypass and forget over time.
Please note: Photos and videos will be captured during the event, to showcase the creativity.
