Find the Switch: A Creative Writing Workshop with Ian Wild
For young people aged 12–16 | In association with the Munster Literature Centre
In Alice in Wonderland, Alice nibbles a cake that makes her shrink, chats with a dormouse in a teapot, and meets a cat that vanishes bit by bit. In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, there’s a magical inventor, an everlasting gobstopper, and a boat ride through a tunnel of sweets. In Harry Potter, we discover flying cars, Platform 9¾, and the bustling magic of Diagon Alley.
The most unforgettable books are filled with imagination — and it’s often the wildest, weirdest moments we love the most. But how do writers come up with such fantastical ideas?
The truth is, everyone has an imagination. You just need to find the switch.
In this fun and inspiring workshop, writer and storyteller Ian Wild – who has had over twenty children’s stories broadcast on RTÉ Radio One – will help young writers discover their own creative spark.
