History Unscripted: Exploring the past through process drama

  • Workshop

The sessions will use a process drama approach called Mantle of the Expert where children are framed as experts who explore real world stories and situations.  Objects and displays from the Museum collection will be used to inspire the workshops.  Drama allows children to understand an ever-changing world as well as aiding them to enter other worlds using their imaginations.

Suitable for ages 10 – 16.

Dates and Times: Wednesday 4th June – 4-6pm and Saturday 7th June 11am -2pm – participants must commit to both sessions

About the facilitator: Native Tipperary artist Tara Power has been a drama in education practitioner for fifteen years delivering workshops in early years and primary schools both in Ireland and China. She recently received a master’s in higher education that looks at the contribution of online role-play in developing empathy and communication skills. She studied drama in education at Trinity College Dublin and has a theatre performance diploma.
