Sheep!

  • Workshop

This is an area where sheep farming is a centuries old agricultural way of life from generation to generation. In this event, children will get the opportunity to explore the world of sheep and wool farming through creative activities led by 2 local artists.

There will be some cartography, where they will make a large colourful creative inventive map and then trace the historic  journeys of their chosen breed of sheep with drawings and observational colour studies. The actual colour of wool will be explored by colour mixing.

Children will get the chance to get hands on with some wool through wet needle felting. The children will construct and design a 2D their chosen breed of sheep from the wet felting process.  The older children, with adult supervision and help will be taught how to construct a 3D dry felt/needle felt sheep.

This incredibly unique event is not to be missed. It is aimed at children aged 6-12 and will run from 11-4 on Saturday the 7th of June in the Moylough Community Centre.
