Eco Art Cyanotype Workshops

  • Workshop

In the run up to Cruinniú na nÓg, local artist Jennifer Cunningham, will run Cyanotype workshops in Gaelscoil Iarfhlatha.

This will start with a deep listening nature walk which will give the opportunity to connect with nature through looking and listening and also through creative responses. The children will gather a selection of plants which will be later used to create cyanotypes, anthotypes and photograms. They will then discuss biodiversity and do drawing exercises and warm ups. They will then produce their prints which will be displayed in an exhibition in the school.

On Saturday the 7th of June, Jennifer will run a Cyanotype printmaking workshop there for two age groups. 7- 9 year olds and  10-13 year olds set against the background of the exhibition of the school children’s work.

As this event is based in a Gaelscoil, the workshop will be carried out bilingually with the children encouraged to use their Irish wherever possible.

It will run from 1:30 to 4pm.
