Tairseach: Standing at the mouth of the world

The Tea Houses is delighted to invite you to the opening of ‘Tairseach: Standing at the mouth of the world’ on Saturday 18th of April at 2.00pm.

Two Kilkenny-based artists, Vicki O’Donoghue and Mary Doyle Burke, take us to the edges of the Irish landscape, to mountainsides, cave sites, and ancient bogs.. where the physical world opens onto something older and sacred.

Both artists dance on the edges of mystical spaces, sensing portals within the landscape. Their work invites us to perceive wider realities beyond what immediately appears.

All are welcome. Opening will be held 3pm on the 18th of April, 2026

Curated by Shannon Carroll.
Kindly supported by Kilkenny County Council and Creative Ireland.
Presented as part of the Kilkenny County Council Arts Office Programme.
