Young Voices After Dark

Young Voices After Dark is an evening spoken-word and poetry event designed to give young people in Mullingar a platform to create, perform and share their own work in a supportive and exciting night-time cultural environment. Hosted in the relaxed and youth-friendly setting of YoYo Café.

The evening will begin with a short spoken-word workshop led by a professional poet and writer, Jonny Farrelly, introducing young people to performance poetry techniques such as rhythm, voice, storytelling and stage presence. Participants will then be invited to share their own pieces in a youth-led open mic session, supported by facilitators and local artists. The aim is to create a welcoming space where young people can explore identity, creativity and expression, while also experiencing a vibrant cultural activity as part of the night-time economy in Mullingar.
