Unfinished Book of Poetry at Poetry in the Park

  • Workshop

The Unfinished Book of Poetry comes to life in Cork’s city parks for Cruinniú na nÓg, inviting readers to encounter the voices of young poets in the open air.

As part of Poetry in the Park, twelve poems by Transition Year students from five Cork schools are displayed in park settings, offering moments of reflection, imagination, and discovery for passers‑by of all ages. Developed through a series of workshops led by experienced poets as part of Ó Bhéal’s long‑running Unfinished Book of Poetry project, these works showcase young people experimenting with language, imagery, and ideas, and seeing their writing take its place in the public realm. Encountered among trees, paths, and green spaces, the poems celebrate youth creativity and the power of poetry to connect people, place, and feeling during Cruinniú na nÓg.

The poems will be installed in Fitzgerald’s Park, Tramore Valley Park, Ballincollig Regional Park, Marina Park, Gerry O’Sullivan Park, and Blarney Sanctuary Walkway.
