There was once a King with a very fine garden. He lived a simple life and liked nothing more than spending time in his garden watching the bees, butterflies and beautiful flowers. But one day he hears that other Kings have lots of shiny, sparkly cloaks and crowns and he decides to buy himself a new cloak and a new crown, and then another, and another, until he has surrounded himself with dazzling cloaks and crowns of many colours but what about the garden? The flowers are dying, the bees and butterflies have gone. Can the children help the King see sense and save the garden before it’s too late!
In this interactive drama and story workshop the children become part of the story as the King’s gardeners and advisors and work together to help save his beautiful garden. After the workshops there will be a flower-making area in the library where the children and accompanying adults can make more bright and colourful flowers and butterflies for the King’s garden
