Threads of the Tuatha: A Botanical Yarn Trail

  • Workshop

Join in for a guided tour followed by a weaving workshop at Tearmann Community Gardens.

Threads of the Tuatha: A Botanical Yarn Trail was brought together 2nd and 3rd Class students from Scoil Naomh Íosaf for an inspiring, hands-on exploration of textile art, local heritage, and Irish mythology. Through a series of artist-led workshops, the students have designed and created a vibrant, large-scale yarn-bombed trail. All the materials used for this project are dyed using only botanical and garden produce. The project will be installed in Tearmann Community Gardens as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2026. Inspired by the legend of Tuatha Dé Danann and the rich tradition of weaving in Baltinglass, the project transforms the gardens into a colourful, story-filled outdoor gallery.
