Cruinniú na nÓg dlr 2026: Creativity in the Park – Comhaltas Craobh Naithí

  • Performance

To finish off our day in the park we will be enjoying live traditional Irish music performed by Comhaltas Craobh Naithí!

This event is part of a fun‑filled family adventure near the musical instruments at Shanganagh Park where families of all ages are invited to join us as we bring movement, music, and nature‑inspired creativity to the park.

The Craobh Naithí Group are young teenage musicians from the South County Dublin Comhaltas Group. They and rehearse weekly, and take part on lots of events and competitions throughout the year including local sessions, ceili’s,  pop-up events, and library performances. They create arrangements of traditional music and song and play a wide range of instruments: tin whistle, flute, fiddle, accordion, concertina, banjo, harp and bodhrán, many of which will feature in their musical performance for Cruinniú na nÓg.

Children have told us they wanted to take part in their local neighbourhood and parks – we have responded by programming an exciting morning. Come along and enjoy art and nature workshops, drumming and music sessions, dance workshops, and live performances by talented young local musicians. You can also catch pop‑up interactive performances from Irish National Opera and try out the musical instruments already in the park.

No need to book—just come along! A full schedule of activities, including the exact times of each music and dance workshop, will be shared closer to the day.
