Ceol agus Damhsa

Performance

Cahir Comhaltas young musicians and dancers will present a lively programme of “Ceol agus Damhsa” at the Cahir Tourist Office Plaza, adjacent to Cahir Castle and Cahir Farmers’ Market. Get a taste of traditional Irish music and dance from young performers ranging in age from 5 years right up to 15/16 years. The performance will also feature Irish step dancing and sean-nós dancing, offering a rich and varied display of tradition and talent.

After this year’s performances, we’ll also be running a “Try an Instrument” session for children (and any interested adults!) how the instruments work and to let them have a go themselves.

It’s a lovely chance for younger audience members to discover what they enjoy, ask questions, and maybe spark an interest in learning an instrument. The aim is to make music feel fun, welcoming and accessible, and to encourage children to explore their musical talents in a relaxed, supportive way.
