Exposure: Teen Photo & Zine Project

  • Workshop

Exposure is a photography project for young people aged 15–18. This exciting workshop series culminates in a public showcase as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2026.

Twelve participants will take part in four workshops on 6 May, 13 May, 20 May, and 3 June, all running from 3–6 p.m. Throughout the series, participants will explore cyanotype printing, analogue 35mm photography, zine design, and bookbinding. Through playful, process‑driven experimentation, they will create bold and personal work responding to themes of identity, environment, and everyday life.

Guided by experienced artists Gráinne Murphy and Julie Corcoran, the group will develop their own self‑published zines, gain new creative skills, and build a strong sense of ownership over their ideas. The workshops are inclusive and accessible, welcoming young people of all abilities and encouraging experimentation, collaboration, and creative risk-taking.

The project will conclude on 6 June, 12–2 p.m., with a public showcase at the Creative Spark Downtown Hub. Participants will exhibit their work and step into the role of facilitators, leading open zine‑making and collage workshops for peers, families, and the wider community.

This project offers a unique opportunity for young people to become not only artists, but leaders, sharing their voices, creativity, and vision in a celebratory, community‑focused event.
