Make a Thaumatrope

Workshop

This S.T.E.A.M. workshop for ages 6-12 explores vision, motion, speed, dexterity and co-ordination. Participants will make an old-fashioned “Thaumatrope” – which was the beginning of animation. You will use simple materials to make a toy that has two different images on each side that, when spun, will combine to make a single image. This is called “persistence of vision” and is why we can view many still images quickly as animation or cartoons!

Booking is required, as spaces are limited.
