Make It Your Way: Big Art, Clay, Masks and Build Play
Make It Your Way is a sensory‑friendly visual art workshop designed especially for children and young people with autism, for Cruinniú na nÓg.
This two‑hour session is flexible, low‑demand and child‑led, with a strong focus on choice, comfort and enjoyment. Participants are invited to take part in their own way, moving freely between activities, engaging at their own pace, and choosing how and when to participate.
A wide range of materials will be available, including paints, drawing tools, clay, fabrics, textured objects and cardboard. Children and teens can explore big, full‑body painting on large surfaces, enjoy hands‑on making through clay modelling and mask‑making, or build imaginative structures using cardboard and recycled materials.
Soft fabrics and tactile materials will be available throughout the session to support sensory exploration and creative play. Each participant will also have access to a personalised sensory box with self‑selected items for moments of calm or regulation when needed.
The session includes a gentle movement break halfway through
