The Children’s Carnival Collective

Workshop

Join us for a vibrant morning of creativity celebrating all things Carnival, for children aged 7–11 years.

Building on last year’s Cruinniú na nÓg spectacle, participants will create music, dance, costumes and decorations, culminating in their own colourful mini parade on the Council Plaza.

Forty children will work with the Droichead Arts Centre’s Artist Collective to devise and take part in a series of hands-on workshops exploring what goes into creating a carnival from scratch.

Through rapid drumming, prop-making, costume creation, and choreography, children will experience all aspects of carnival-making in a fun and collaborative environment.

At the end of the session, participants will bring together their new moves, rhythms, and visual creations as they take to the street for a joyful mini-carnival parade.
